Felix Greissle--private student of Schoenberg in Vienna (from 1920). He was the rehearsal coach for Schoenberg's Verein für musikalische Privataufführungen in Vienna. He conducted many early performances of Schoenberg's works, including Opp. 4, 13, 21, 24, 26, 28. He was Schoenberg's preferred arranger, and eventually made at least 16 arrangements of Schoenberg's works, including Opp. 9, 10, 16, 20, 22, 24, 26, 30, 36, 40. In 1921 he married Schoenberg's daughter Gertrud. In 1938 he emigrated to the United States, where he worked as editor-in-chief for the music publishers G. Schirmer and Edward B. Marks Music Corporation. Later he was a consultant to the Theodore Presser Company. He taught theory and composition at Columbia University, and the Philadelphia Academy of Music. He has written an unpublished biography of Schoenberg.
