Erwin Stein--conductor who (beginning in 1906) studied composition with Schoenberg. He assisted Schoenberg both as an administrator of, and music arranger and conductor for, the Verein für musikalische Privataufführungen in Vienna. He worked at Universal Edition in Vienna (1924-1938) and Boosey & Hawkes in London (from 1938).
