David Diamond--American composer who studied with (among others) Roger Sessions and Nadia Boulanger. He taught at the Manhattan School of Music, and the Juilliard School. A friend of Schoenberg, he attempted on Schoenberg's behalf (without success) to retrieve Schoenberg's music manuscripts from Universal Edition in Vienna.
